Do’s For Hair Care
Brush your hair extensions before shampooing your hair to ensure it's tangle free.
Secure the Hair with one hand whilst de-tangling to avoid any pressure or tension on the connections or natural hair.
It Is important that you use products on your hair that are recommended and advised by the extensions brand applied.
A silicone / paraben free shampoo will ensure your hair extensions stay in perfect condition and last the recommended time. Although some store bought products may not include the listed ingredients to avoid, I cannot guarantee the quality of the extensions if using products not advised to use.
Apply conditioner / mask only from the ponytail down avoiding contact with the root area or locks however you can apply conditioner generously throughout the ends.
When shampooing your hair work vertically not horizontally or in a circular motion, this will create fewer tangles and easier to manage.
For best results leave the conditioner in for 3– 5 minutes before rinsing and comb through your hair extensions. We recommend removing the heavy wet before applying conditioner.
Always use the leave-in conditioner on the ends to keep the ends looking silky.
We recommend you brush your scalp at least twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening to keep your hair extensions clean at the root area with your tangle teezer or recommended soft bristle brush.
Weekly treatments are recommended.
Only use correct products as advised by your certified stylist, which include: Easilocks, Remi Cachet, and Beauty Works. Using the full range including styling products will maximise your result and sustain the high quality of the hair.
Gather your hair into a loose side ponytail or braid when sleeping.
When swimming always tie your hair in a ponytail or braid and apply conditioner to the hair to act as a barrier against harmful chlorine/salt water etc. Always shampoo immediately after swimming and de-tangle as normal.
Swimming is not recommended if wearing tape hair extensions.
Always cover your hair when in direct sunlight for long periods of time and use correct sun care products.
For Ash blondes and Ash Brunettes, shades use a stylist approved Purple shampoo to ensure fade does not occur.
If the hair is washed in hard water you will need to apply water softening shampoo to ensure the colour is not effected.
Washing your hair post exercise is recommended.
Dont’s For Hair Care
Don’t go to bed with wet hair.
Don’t shampoo over the bath as may create problems when de-tangling. Also causing unnecessary pull on the root area potentially causing hair damage.
Don’t attempt to maintain or adjust your extensions yourself. Any issues leave it to the professionals.
Don’t leave your extensions in for longer than 3 months for I-Tip extensions 8-10 weeks if the natural hair is fine for i-tip extensions. 8-9 weeks for tape extensions if hair is fine and 10-12 weeks for normal. If your hair extensions are left in for longer than the recommended time some damage may occur.
Don’t leave your hair wet for longer periods of time without de-tangling as may become matted.
Don’t use any hot tools on your extensions without using a Stylist approved heat protector. Comb through your hair to ensure the product is evenly distributed throughout ensuring everywhere is protected.
Don’t allow bronze’s / fake tans / sun creams or products with tint and oils in them to make contact with your hair extensions. Especially if in the sun as you may experience slight colour change or hair slipping .
Avoid tight up dos or ponytails for the first few days after hair extension application.
As a result of natural shedding (approx. 50–100 strands per day), it is not unusual to shed anywhere from 15-20 extension strands over the course of wear.
Steam Rooms, swimming and exercise is all okay providing you take extra precautions to ensure hair slipping.
